While at PhotoPlus Expo in NY, Derrick Story sat down with Rob Trueman and Cathy Chung to talk about their experiences with the Fall 2008 Aperture Nature Photography Workshop in the Grand Teton National Park. Rob and Cathy were two of the four contest winners who earned a trip to the Grand Tetons where they received one-on-one photography instruction and a full course in Aperture. During this interview, they talk about what they learned and how they are applying that knowledge now.

Cathy Chung photographs newborns, babies, children, families, events, and products. She enjoys shooting newborns and also has a passion for fine art photography. Rob Trueman has been shooting pictures since he was eight years old when his grandfather bought him a little box camera from Sears. He then procured his father's Yashica in his early teens and moved to Nikon in the late 80s. Rob got serious with photography about four years ago when he purchased his first digital camera, the Nikon D70. Digital photography brought his two loves together — technology and photography. Since then, he's purchased the D200 and his current camera, the D300.
