Steinberg Hosts Java on Mac Panelby Derrick Story
During the week of MacWorld NY we'll be posting show updates and insights. Our first news item focuses on Mac DevCenter contributor, Daniel Steinberg.
Daniel, the author of our monthly Java on the Mac column, will be hosting a panel at this week's MacWorld Expo on the state of Java on the Mac.
In addition to representatives from Apple, this session will serve as a show and tell of vendors who have working Java applications.
The panel includes Apple's Java Technology Manager Alan Samuel and their Product Line Manager, Development Platforms Ernest Prabhaka (who is responsible for, among other things, WebObjects). MetroWerks' Bryan Rooney and Andy Mastronardi will be demoing CodeWarrior 7. AppGen's CTO Sean Reilly will be showing their MoneyDance application.
MoneyDance is written entirely in Java, and AppGen's development platform is now Mac OS X. Wolfram's Lars Hohmuth will be showing some of the Java and web features of Mathematica. As always, there will be a question and answer period at the end. The panel is scheduled for Thursday afternoon, July 19th, 1:30 to 3:00.
